How to communicate well at work
When you are asked to do something:
Immediately add the request to the top of your queue.
If the request is something I think I'll finish today and not something I normally create a JIRA ticket for: # TODO: Clarify when you would create a JIRA ticket for something.
I use Notepad.
Example: "Prioritize the request to do XYZ."
Otherwise:
I create a ticket in JIRA.
Reply and confirm that you've received the request.
Example: "Request acknowledged."
Prioritize the request.
Example: "Hmm...I should do this before X and after Y."
Reply again and give your prioritization information / ETA.
