Prolonged interviews (30+ min) (Dealing with the media)

1996 - OJ Simpson's first interview after the murder trial

  • I have to hand it to him: he comes across as very well-prepared, very well-spoken.
  • He comes across better than most politicians do in interviews.
  • He comes off as very calm, very composed. There's no trace of nervousness.
  • I suspect he was thoroughly, thoroughly prepared to be asked questions similar to the ones asked in this interview.
  • I think this is a great example of how, when preparing for an interview, you need to prepare not just answers but also your composure. It reminds me of what flirting enthusiasts say: what you say is often not as important as how you say it.
