How to quickly write an email by transcribing an audio clip

  1. Use the 'Voice Recorder' app to record your thoughts.
    1. It should save it in the .m4a format.
  2. 'Share' the file to your Dropbox folder.
  3. Have IBM's Watson transcribe the audio.
    1. Use zamzar.com to convert the file from .m4a to .wav.
      1. Explanation: The Watson page doesn't accept .m4a files.
    2. Upload the .wav file at https://speech-to-text-demo.mybluemix.net/
  4. Clean up any imperfections in Watson's transcription.
    1. When the text has finished being transcribed by Watson, copy it to a text editor.
    2. Go to http://otranscribe.com/ and upload the original .m4a file.
      1. Explanation: otranscribe accepts .m4a, and the .m4a file was significantly smaller than the .wav file when I was going through these steps.
    3. Play the audio slowly while following along in your text editor with Watson's transcript.
    4. Correct any mistakes that Watson made.
