- I saw a picture of a startup founder on a magazine cover and thought: if I'm ever put on a magazine cover I would want to have a photo of the team rather than just myself. Ditto for being a politician.
- On the other hand, you may not want to advertise your team members...you might make it more likely that they'll be pursued by competitors.
- I'm reminded of how Elon was pushed out of the CEO role at his first company to be replaced with someone who had more status, and how that may have led Elon to try to gain mindshare via the media so that that would not happen again.
- I'm also reminded of Marc Benioff's statement in his auotbio of Salesforce that one of the things he learned from Larry Ellison was to never give up power.
