How to get the Surface Pro 2 to be reasonably fast when browsing

  • Turn off all of your extensions except for LastPass and PixelBlock.

    • (Yes, turn off Adblock).

    • This will significantly reduce the RAM that your Chrome tabs require.

  • Disable images on all sites.

    • Re-enable images for particular sites as you come across them.

      • Examples: My wiki, Kindle Cloud Reader, PythonAnywhere.

  • Disable scripts on all sites.

    • Re-enable them for work-related sites as you find you need them.
